I haven't made a journal entry in a whiiiiile...

Soooooo... I start my first semester of college on monday. But, I've been spending the past five days and Band Camp for the university's marching band. 8am to 6pm, ten hours of marching band per day for five days. My legs hurt and I have sunburn. And for the first four days, we have to use a field that was watered early in the morning every day, so it was wet and muddy every day. And it smelled like sewage in the afternoon after the sun had been warming it up. And we had to learn the traditional step, in which you have to bring your knees up, as apposed to the glide steep Well, we use the traditional step for pre-game, and the glide step for halftime. My feet are killing me and my legs hurt.

Oh, and I have to have the pre-game music memorized by sunday, and all of the halftime music by thursday, which is eight songs. yaaaay. And we get a new halftime show for every home game which is new to me. That'll be fun. But I do love marching band, I'm gonna have so much fun in this band.

More good news! I got my final pottery piece that I made in high school back from the kiln, but it got ruined!!1!1! The kiln didn't shut off when it was supposed to and it got vitrified!! Meaning, it got cooked too long and now it's super delicate and can't be glazed. The piece was a chess set (well, half of one) and it looked soooo awesome, and I'm incredibly angry. It I wanted it colored in any way, I'd have to paint it, which would be incredibly difficult. I have no pictures at the moment because each piece had to be individually wrapped so it wouldn't break while getting transported, and I don't feel like unwrapping them if I need to take them somewhere for some reason. I'm so sad, I spent a lot of time on it. Like, the day after I graduated I was in the pottery room for 4-5 hours working on it. I'm not even kidding. I might take a couple pieces out to photograph later, though.
